Born in the blue-collar town of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to a schoolteacher and Hungarian immigrant, Austin lives his life by the phrase, “I put my boots on one at a time, just like everyone else”. Except for him, boots = soccer cleats. A coach’s son and kid at heart, he carries on his passion by leading the Olympic Club Men’s Soccer team to glory (or more importantly running their Instagram account @olympicclubsoccer). Off the pitch, Austin is a Marina chameleon, effortlessly maneuvering his way between Union, Filmore and Chestnut and seamlessly changing his Lululemon ABC Commissioner Slims from grey to olive to navy.
An M&A consultant for manufacturing companies, Austin stays true to his roots and defies the San Francisco “I work in Tech” norm. After long days at his FiDi office, @TothLifestyle can be spotted winding down with a sunset run along Marina Boulevard or with a lengthy “Tri-bath-a-lon”, bouncing between the O-Club pool, steam room and sauna (beer in hand, obviously).
Arriving in the Bay Area 3 years ago with just 2 suitcases, 1 backpack and 0 Marina bromances, Austin feels blessed to finally be settled in. For him, this competition means two things: (1) raising money for a hell of cause and (2) illustrating what an incredible place the Marina is to call home.
