Alec is not your typical Marina bro, which may be exactly what your typical Marina bro would say...Yes, he loves Balboa Café, Westwood, and Silver Cloud just as much as the next guy, but it’s what he does when he ISN’T bar-hopping, brunching, or basking in the Blue Light on Union Street that defines him.
A Bay Area native who grew up in the Oakland hills, Alec was recruited to row at UCSD. He's a self-proclaimed Mama's boy. Following the unexpected passing of his father during his Sophomore year of college, Alec drew strength from the incredible example his mother (pictured above) set as she continued to raise his two siblings while working and dealing with the emotional fallout. He says that she’s his greatest role model and inspiration.
Currently, Alec works in Corporate Strategy at Pottery Barn - the brand your mothers all know and love. He loves solving complex problems and engineering strategies to grow Pottery Barn in today's rapidly changing and competitive retail environment. Between taking care of his labradoodle, Lucky, and training for the Santa Cruz Ironman Triathlon with his amazing girlfriend, Katie, you can catch him stocking up on non-perishable goods from Whole Foods and N95 respirator masks to weather out the Coronavirus.
Alec is excited to be joining the fight against leukemia and lymphoma as it has affected several of his friends and their families, and he hopes to make a positive difference in their and others' lives who have been impacted by blood cancer.
